Lewis Carroll: Author, Mathematician, and Christian

Lewis Carroll is best known as author of Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass.  However only in two works, Sylvie and Bruno and Sylvie and Bruno Concluded did Carroll attempt to bring together his literary creativity, mathematics and Christian faith.  This paper addresses two questions: What motivated Carroll to make this attempt? How successful was it?
