Faculty Position Announcement for Mathematics Department

 

The Master’s College seeks a versatile and dynamic instructor to teach mathematics courses and academically mentor students. This position begins July, 2008.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

1.       Teach a schedule of classes consisting of approximately 12 units (four courses) per semester.

2.       Provide academic advisement and support to the personal development of the students.

3.       Complete the normal departmental and institutional administrative duties such as: attending faculty meetings; textbook ordering; and coordination of the scheduling of classes.

4.       Assume supplementary responsibilities that will include participation in at least two academic committee assignments.

5.       Establish internships and career opportunities.

6.       Perform other related duties as established or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

1.       A doctoral degree in mathematics.

2.       A strong commitment to the doctrinal position and philosophy of the teaching ministry of The Master’s College.

3.       Ability to teach students effectively, evaluate their performance, and create a supportive learning environment.

4.       Ability to teach a wide range of mathematics courses.

5.       Excellent oral and written communication skills.

6.       Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, faculty, and students of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

7.       Evidence of a mature Christian lifestyle by active involvement in a conservative evangelical local church.

 

Compensation & Benefits:

       Compensation is commensurate with that of other faculty positions at The Master’s College based upon the selected applicant’s qualifications and experience. Medical and dental benefits are provided for a nominal employee contribution. TMC participates in the TIAA/CREF retirement program
