The Department of Mathematical Sciences at Bethel College (IN) is seeking applications for several tenure track faculty positions at the Assistant Professor rank beginning August 2008.  All eligible candidates are encouraged to apply; however, the department is particularly interested in beginning and/or strengthening programs in one or more of the following areas:  applied math, statistics, actuarial science, and math education.  Eligible candidates should possess a Ph.D. by the time of appointment.  Exceptional candidates will excel in the classroom, value teaching and research at a Christian liberal arts institution, and possess an interest in developing and overseeing new programs.  Normal faculty duties include twelve hours of undergraduate teaching per semester as well as various departmental and professional responsibilities.

In addition to its own campus resources, Bethel College offers its faculty access to various databases, facilities, and faculty at Notre Dame University, located only 5 miles away from Bethel College campus.

All interested candidates are invited to submit a cover letter, current vita, and a statement of educational philosophy.  Additionally, as a Christian liberal arts institution, Bethel College desires that its faculty possess a vibrant Christian faith and an understanding of how that faith integrates with their discipline.  Therefore, candidates are also asked to submit a brief statement of faith and statement on the integration of faith and learning.  An online application may be found at the following website:   http://www.bethelcollege.edu/offices/hr/employment/.  Priority consideration will be given to candidates whose applications are completed by December 1, 2007, but the positions will remain open until filled.  For further information or inquiries, please write the department chair at robert.myers@bethelcollege.edu.
